Marvel has wasted no time getting their big bad for Avengers: Age of Ultron lined up, which is good for all of us because we still have to wait until 2015 for the movie—anything they can do to make the wait a little less empty is like a balm to our scorched psyches.
And Ultron is… none other than James Spader!
Most of us remember him as the original Daniel Jackson in the film that launched the Stargate franchise. Or, you know, as every rich jerk in a John Hughes film ever. Also, the guy who won Emmys playing opposite William Shatner in Boston Legal. Point is, Spader has been all over everywhere for a while.
Our real question comes down to how he’ll be used—is this a voice only part? Will they use motion-capture? Just bring him in to act opposite people for charged close-ups? Tell us, Marvel.
We just hope he doesn’t spend the film eating 5th Avenue bars and doing chicken impressions.
